What does heat buy?

No listing fee, no monthly plan. Money buys heat, and heat burns off — so a position costs a rate, not a price. Paid Heat is the ranking power; earned Embers add a small capped boost on top. Put in an amount and see what it would do to the board that exists right now.

WOULD ENTER AT #1 on the board as it stands right now
Stays insidefor about
top spot 23 hours
top 3 over 24h
top 5 over 24h
top 10 over 24h
TO HOLD THAT SPOT$84per day, at this rank
TO HOLD THE THRONE$84per day, same heat, faster burn
TO TAKE #1 NOW$52at the current board state

One assumption sits under every number here: that nobody else pays. On a board whose whole point is that people keep paying, that is wrong more often than it is right. Read each duration as the longest a position could last, never as how long it will.

Why it is a rate, not a price

Every listing loses half its heat every 18 hours, continuously. The listing at #1 burns at that rate and #2 at 1.35×, so the top of the board drains fastest and no single payment parks there. That is the difference between this and an ad slot: you rent attention by the hour, and the rent goes up as you climb.

One thing worth knowing before you spend: two listings close together tend to lock. Whichever is in front burns faster, falls back, and they swap — so a narrow lead is not a gap, it is a tie that keeps changing hands.
